Waratah Anemone

My aim for this work was to explore the concept of “endangered” by looking at coastal microcosms that are at risk from altered seawater temperatures, due to climate change.

This Waratah Anemone is prolific on the NSW South Coast, but it was the only one I found at the Sussex Inlet headland.

I created this piece by photographing the 10mm anemone using a macro lens and creating the kaleidoscope effect using computer software.

Through this work I have drawn attention to the magnificence of tiny organisms in our natural environment that are at risk.
